Peter Stephenson on the Moffats

Peter Stephenson on the Moffats

I looked up my maternal grandfather's war record online. He was listed as being born at Farina. He joined in March 1916 and was 27 1/2 (?) at the time. So he was probably born in 1888.
His name was William Albert Moffat. Rebecca Moffat is listed as his next of kin, i.e. mother. Robert Moffat must have been his father. I haven't been able to find where he served in WWI. He was injured and lost a leg. I have vague memories of him but I was quite young when he died. I do have his discharge certificate somewhere.
My grandmother's family is from Saddleworth. They moved to Kadina at some stage as my mother was born there. My mother is now 94.
I will see if she can remember when they moved there or any other details. It was interesting to find out details of my ancestors and Farina. I'm not sure if this adds any more details to your history of the town.
